Darlene Zimmerman, who is a well-known designer, quilter, textile historian, national teacher/lecturer and author will be in Shipshewana on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, 2008. She is widely known for her 1930's reproduction fabrics, known as the "Granny" lines. She has appeared in countless quilting magazines; the T.V. show "Sew Creative; and continues to lecture and teach.

Registration

Finishing School Workshop
Darlene will be conducting a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (With one hour lunch break) workshop at Bernina Sewing Center on Friday, June 20^th. This workshop will teach you to make, mark and bind all sorts of edge finishes on quilts. Registration will include a pattern and fabric kit with thread. This workshop is limited to 20 participants so please don't delay! Registration for the workshop is separate from the Darlene Zimmerman Luncheon and Seminar on Saturday June 21^st. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine to the workshop. If you do not own a sewing machine, one may be rented.

Luncheon and Seminar
On Saturday June 21^st we will be enjoying a traditional Amish home-style luncheon at the Blue Gate Restaurant. Following the meal we will be moving upstairs to the theater facility for a seminar by Darlene -- From Ho-Hum to Wow! Take your quilts from ordinary to Extra-ordinary!

Book and Pattern Signing
We have planned for Darlene to be signing books and patterns in the fabric department in the morning and afternoon on June 21^st so you will be able to meet her. This is your opportunity for photos with Darlene and time for a personal chat. We will have plenty of Darlene's books and tools if you forgot yours or would just like to have a clean copy with her signature. As always we will have yards and yards of her beautiful fabric available. Following the seminar, Darlene will demonstrate some of her quilting tools in the fabric department of Yoder Department store.

Door Prizes
As part of your registration you are eligible for one of many door prizes to ge given away throughout the day. We have door prizes donated by our store vendors and local vendors as well as some goodies from Yoder Department Store. Winners must be present to win.
